Description

Whilst I continue to try and fine tune the new mount, I thought I would have a go at this fascinating object. I need more imaging time, and I would sooner use the bigger gear for that, but I am happy with the result on a less than perfect night. Not a lot showed up in the stf stretch, but I managed to extract this from the data. I find these tricky objects to process, and I am sure there is a technique I don't know about, but it almost seems as though one is trying to stretch the darkness of the object itself, whilst keeping the rest of the dark background in check - along with the stars too. Maybe that is why the stf stretch does not show up the object very well, because it is stretching the darkness within the object itself, along with everything else... Does any of this make any sense?  :  ) Cheers everyone. Simon
